Guideline maps for disease risk (ESCCAP website)

If you are travelling with your pet in Europe, you might find the ESCCAP (European Scientific Counsel Companion Animal Parasites) guidelines for the treatment and control of parasites in pet animals useful. ESCCAP  is an independent, non-profit making organisation and their guidelines are developed to summarise the different situations within Europe, protect the health of pets and enhance the safety of the public. We use this information to give guidance regarding infection risk by different parasites and measures you can take against them. This enables you to act responsibly for your pet’s life, and the pets and other animals and people in your community.

ESCCAP include information about Leishmania, Heartworm and Tapeworm (Echinococcus).

You can access the guideline maps by clicking on the link above. If you would like to book in to talk with one of our vets about the regulations, or to start your pet on the treatments required before they are allowed to travel,  please contact us on 01654 702444 (Machynlleth) or 01654 710416 (Tywyn).
